Move!

Economical & Ergonomic Solutions For Locations In Which Workstations Are Frequented By A Variety Of Users
July 23, 2008, Londonderry, NH -- SIS-USA, Inc. announced today a new line of economical workstation tables designed for areas in which users change frequently. Typical markets include corporate or home offices, hotelling environments, school computer labs, telemarketing centers, airport lounges, training rooms, healthcare clinics, internet cafes and any others.
The new line of adjustable height tables is called "move!" and consists of three versions; spring, electric and crank designed at Fjello-Jensen Imagineering in Denmark. Both the spring and electric models incorporate a single column with a V-base design and are available in a choice of different tabletop shapes and sizes including 120° corner, 90° corner, kidney shaped and rectangles. The crank version is available with square or kidney-shaped tops and, rather than the single column "V" base, it is available with a cantilevered two-leg frame design. All tops are available in a wide variety of domestic laminates from all major HPL suppliers.
The height of both the spring and electric models quickly and effortlessly adjusts between 26- and 45-inches high and safely locks in place to prevent inadvertent movement. Crank versions adjust from 23- to 35.5-inches high.
"Markets for our new "move!" line are almost limitless," said Alan Morse, president of SIS-USA. "We believe that, for the first time, "move!" adjustable tables offers business with ergonomic solutions at an affordable price. Our research indicates that this line is prices at up to 40% less than our competition and offers some important advantages that the others do not." "Move! was designed to provide any user with an immediate response adjustment to assure the gratification of focused time-on-task work while maintaining physical comfort."
"move!" Mechanisms
The spring model incorporates a unique leaf spring assembly rather than a traditional torsion spring. This assures that the spring tension is lineal so that minimal and equal pressure is required to raise or lower the tabletop throughout the entire span. Competitive designs require greater exertion as the end of the adjustable span approaches. This leaf spring design is unique to the "move!" line. Spring models handle a weight load of up to 30 lbs of surface equipment, which is ideal for LCD monitors and laptops along with telephone and other peripherals. The spring table is designed to move at the same speed as the user changing from a sitting to standing position.
The electric models silently adjust at 1.5 inches per second on ball bearing glides and are better suited to accommodate heavier equipment up to 150 lbs. This is the best solution for many ADA and return-to-work applications. Crank models come in two frame widths to support tops from 27.5- to 60-inches wide by 24-inches deep. The adjusting crank is located on the right side of the table and is removable. Crank tables accept workloads of up to 220 lbs.
"move!" Accessories
The "move!" line is further enhanced by a variety of useful, easy-to-install accessories to increase flexibility and ergonomics. For example, optional 1- to 5-inch heavy-duty casters are available for those environments requiring frequent movement of workstations. The single column is slotted on three sides to accept vertical CPU holder and variety of shelves to reposition equipment off the desk surface and above the floor for cleaning. A wire management system provides a neat and logical solution to organize electrical and other wires. Other accessories include electrical and voice/data receptacles as well as "geneSIS," a fully adjustable arm system to hold flat panel displays.
Single column spring models of the "move!" line range in price from $979 to $1,099 list price. Single column electric models list from between $1,379 to $1,499. Crank models range from between $799 to $997 list price. Single column and two-legged bases are available from stock in charcoal and available in aluminum on a special order basis. Tabletops are manufactured to order in the company's plant in Londonderry, NH.
