Midform Takes Over Rufac From SIS Functional Furnature A/S

Middelfart, Denmark
December 3, 2008.
Midform Holding ApS announced today that it has purchased Rufac A/S, the OEM
manufacturer of desk frames located in Rudkøbing, Denmark, from SIS Functional
Furniture A/S.
In the deal, Midform acquires all Rufac assets except small IT furniture, which will
continue under SIS. Rufac has extensive experience in producing components for
height-adjustable desks and medical equipment for European and North American
OEM customers. Rufac employs 25 persons at its facility in Rudkøbing.
According to Claus Hansson, managing director and majority shareholder at
Midform Holding, the acquisition will strengthen the company's position as an
international OEM supplier to the furniture industry. "A consistent and reliable
supply chain is key to our business and to that of our customers. Bringing Rufac
into Midform will allow us to further improve our ability to service customers
especially in North America. But we think there are also good opportunities to
expand the Rufac business in Europe".
Søren Grønbæk, chairman of the board for SIS Functional Furniture, which owned
Rufac, is also pleased with the deal. "Finding a good solution that would keep
Rufac running and maintain as many jobs as possible was very important for us.
This allows SIS to focus more strongly on its core business furniture for learning
environments. And it allows Rufac to build on the strong expertise of its
employees."
